Art in Valle Camonica
Valle Camonica is a valley in eastern Lombardia and it is one of the largest in the central Alps: almost 100 km long, with an area of 1 518.19 km² and a population of about 120 300 people. It begins in Lake Iseo (in the south) and it ends with the mountain passes: Passo del Tonale at 1 883 m above sea level, Passo dell’Aprica and Passo del Gavia, the highest point of the valley.
From the north to the south, the entire valley is crossed by the River Oglio, which rises in Ponte di Legno, flows into Lake Iseo in Costa Volpino and then out in Sarnico, and it finally flows into the River Po. Almost the entire valley is included in the administrative territory of the province of Brescia.
